Mockingbird Theatrics, incorporating The Acting Studio and Theatre Company, is passionate about the craft of acting and is committed to further developing the unique potential of every actor who comes to the studio, encouraging them to embrace their pursuit for excellence and seek the truth in everything they do regardless of whether their passion is film, television or theatre. And for every audience member who sees our productions, we want to bring the highest standard possible to stories from around the world that will thrill, move and entertain you.

Our Story

Multi-award winning Artistic Director and Tutor, Chris Baldock, is renowned for challenging his students and actors to realise their full potential in a supportive, fun and dynamic environment whilst developing a strong work ethic and passion for the art of acting. His celebrated techniques honour each actor’s individuality to develop a bridge between their craft and their humanity.

​Now in it’s eighth year, Chris has trained students to successfully gain places at Central School of Speech and Drama in London, Bristol Old Vic, NIDA, WAAPA, VCA and QUT and many others.

From 2025, Mockingbird now has a permanent home as the theatre-in-residence at the stunning Belconnen Arts Centre. This will allow massive growth for the company as it introduces school holiday programs, workshops, special events, curated events and so much more. It also allows the students to foster a dynamic space for them to call their creative home.
