Calling all actors, performers, writers and fearless storytellers! This December, Mockingbird Too is throwing down the theatrical gauntlet with our MONOLOGUE SLAM 2026 — six days of extraordinary performances, fierce competition, audience participation and some seriously impressive talent!
No elaborate sets. No scene partners. No hiding behind the furniture. Just YOU, a spotlight and a great piece of writing.
Whether you’re a seasoned performer, an emerging actor or someone who’s always wanted to test their talent in front of a live audience, this is your moment.
Choose a monologue from an established play or unleash something entirely original. Make us laugh. Make us cry. Shock us. Thrill us. Move us. Surprise us.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Across four exciting heats, up to 60 monologues will compete for a place in two semi-finals, culminating in a thrilling Grand Final on Saturday 12 December!
And here’s the twist: the judges aren’t the only ones calling the shots!
At every stage, half the qualifying places will be decided by our esteemed judging panel and half by the audience through our People’s Choice vote.
Six monologues progress from each heat. Six from each semi-final. And twelve outstanding performances will battle it out in the Grand Final for two coveted trophies:

THINK YOU’VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES?

Entry is absolutely FREE!

Open to everyone aged 16 and over.

Perform an established or original monologue lasting 3–5 minutes, plus a brief introduction.

Enter one, two, three or all four heats, with a different monologue for each.

You can even qualify with more than one monologue!

All experience levels are welcome.
THE DATES
HEATS — 7.30pm
Monday 7, Tuesday 8, Thursday 10 and Friday 11 December.
SEMI-FINALS
Wednesday 9 December at 7.30pm and Saturday 12 December at 2pm.
GRAND FINAL
Saturday 12 December at 7.30pm.
VENUE: The Mockingbird Studio, Belconnen Arts Centre.
